Narrative writing-Fractured Fairytail

                                                                     My Reflection
I have been learning to write  a fractured fairy tale using what i  have learned about narrative Structures  and features.  My fractured fairy tale was based on the three little pigs.  i am most proud of  my pixle art because every one did a big one but i didn't rely.

3D shapes

W.A.L.T identify and describe 3D shapes using mathematical language.  I found this easy because i knew the names and the faces and eges corners.   my next step is to learn more shaps

I found this tricky because I didn't really know symmetry but with some help by the teacher I got this done.

Solve Problems by Equal Sharing

My Reflection

I have been learning to solve problems by equal sharing.  I found this easy because i knew 5 10 15.  my next step is to learn my times tables and division facts off by heart.

Character Description

W.A.L.T write a character description.  Using adjectives I fond this picture tricky to describe because I didn't  have that much words but I got it done.  I used my 5 senses to write 5 different sentences about my character.  My next step is to use a simile or metaphor.

Comparing Fairy Tales

I have been learning to identify common themes in fairy and fractured tales.  We read two narrative called Red riding and Into the Forest. " A common theme I made from these stories was they both had a red riding hood and a basket of food for grandma.  I found this hard because i didn't know this at first
my next step is to write my own fractured fairy tale.

Maori God Art

This is my Maori God Art We read a myth called in the beginning we used glow txt. I drew Tu god of man and war and we used some adjectives to describe Him

Skimming and Scaning for Information

My Refection

We have been learning to find and Summarise information by skimming and scamming.  Skimming and Scanning are fast reading techniques to help you find ideas or information quickly in a text.  We read a story about White Tailed spiders.  I used Skimming and Scaning to find information.  I found this easy because i never got stuck because the teacher helped me.  My next step is to try and work it out my self.

Making 10 to solve addition problems

My Reflection  

I have been learning to make 10 to solve simple addition problems.

I found this tricky because i kept forgetting what addition problems were but i got this finished

My next step is to use this strategy  to solve harder problems.

I found this interesting because we got to go on a website Instagrok it was cool

I found this little tricky but I had some help from the Teacher.  I need to keep learning about the features of persuasive writing.  My next step is to write a persuasive speech

Ordering an expplanation

My Reflection

We have been learning about the structure and order of writing on explanation.  We had to put the piece of writing an explanation.  We had to put the piece of writing in the correct order.  I found this tricky because i just found it tricky putting them in order.  My next step is to write my own explanation writing.

Comparing Celebrations

My Reflection
We have been learning to compare and contrast different celebrations.  My group researched information about Eid. Something I found interesting was some photos .  Next we worked with another group and used a Venn diagram to compare our celebrations. Things that were the same were family.  My next step is to put more detail and information in the Venn diagram.

100 Word Challenge

My Reflection 

I have been learning to add detail to my writing.  We had to imagine we were a soldier or a family member and write about this picture I used punctuation to make my writing more interesting. My next step is to add more adjectives  to make my writing interesting.

Multiplication Arrays

We have been learning to solve multiplications problems with arrays. I found this easy because I just knew 4 times 5 so i did it my next step is to learn my times tables of my heart.

Classifying celebrations

we have been learning about celebrations. We had to talk about these celebrations
we had to talk about these celebrations and decided what type of celebrations they were I found this hard because I needed help but I got it done.

Suffixes

Reflection I have been learning to understand how suffixes change the meaning of a word.  I found easy because we had a word and added ed or ing. my next step is to remember to put my words in the right place.

A Moment In time writing

My Reflection
I have been learning to use strategies to add detail to my writing. I wrote about a moment in time
 during my Awsome Holiday.  I used my 5 senses to add detail to my writing.  The best part of this was when
I got to chose the pictures and the writing because it was fun.  I found this work easy because we just
did some writing and got a picture and boom.  My next step is to use more verbs and adjectives and wow words.

MY Reflection
I.ALT show 2 digit numbers on place value material .
I found this easy because I achuly didn't know what place value was but it was really easy.  My next step is to learn how to add 2 digit numbers together.

I am Learning to write an antonym diamante poem. An antonym is its the opposite
of some thing like fire and ice its opposite.A diamante poem is whats a shape of a dimond  
 I found this hard because I could´int  find much words but i got some.My next step is to use intristing words
not boring words.

Summarising Information-Camouflage Presentation

My Reflection
I have been learning to find  and summarise information in non-fiction texts.
The best part of this is that I actually learned about some animals and that tuataras can live 50-100 years.
My next step is to bro-ably use better search words when i look for information on the internet.

This is my tree I had to trace it and then colour it it took long my hand hurt we did warm and cold colours the cold colours were outside the tree and the warm colours inside.

I have been learning to collect data using  a tally chart and show the results on a bar graph.   I found this fun because I chose  MacDonald's  and it made me hungry  and it was fun and easy. I was surprised that nearly Everyone chose MacDonald's.  My next step is to show the data on a different graph.

I have been learning to use metaphors to make it more interesting by making pictures in the readers head.  I was surprised that we could put pitchers on to it`. My next step is to know how to do it so I don't need help.

I have been learning to make connections  to what I read.  I could make a connections to this story because I know what it feels like.  my next steps are to maybe do  better questions.

Sorting numbers - Venn Diagram Activity

My Reflection

I have been learning to sort even numbers and multiples of 5.   I found this a little hard because I kept forgetting what multiples of 5 is and kept just doing even numbers.  My next step is to try harder numbers.

It has a special structure that we had to use to write our poems.  I found this easy because it was
just easy.  My next steps is to use interesting words.

My Welcome Post 2017

Welcome to my Year 4 learning blog.  I am in room 12 and my teacher is Mrs Melville.  I enjoy swimming and playing Lego. This year I am looking forward to doing new stuff and learning new stuff.  I hope you enjoy my blog and leave lots of feedback.
